Welcome to the Reproducible Belief Neuroscience (RBN) Lab!

At the RBN Lab, we investigate how beliefs and expectations are shaped, and how they influence the mind, brain, and behavior, in the placebo effect and beyond.

We integrate cognitive, neural, computational, social, and clinical approaches, with a strong commitment to open and reproducible science.

Our goal is twofold: to better understand the mechanisms of belief updating and placebo effects, and to translate these insights into practical interventions and tools that improve real-world outcomes.

Our Mission
& Vision

At the RBN Lab, we believe that understanding how beliefs are formed, updated, and influence behavior is key to improving individual well-being and promoting a healthier, more informed society.

We aim to bridge rigorous basic science with real-world applications—from clinical interventions to societal change—while fostering a collaborative, transparent, and critical scientific culture.

Our long-term vision is to develop practical, evidence-based tools that help shape healthier beliefs, reduce harmful biases, and improve treatment outcomes across diverse contexts.
